NOTE: The images below show a very early Slater coffin-sided smoothing plane. The body casting is similar to patterns made popular by Stewart Spiers of Ayr, Scotland and Thomas Norris of London. The infill is rosewood, and an early Slater mark can be seen on the lever cap.
